XAVC S to MP4 Workflow: Could iPad be Compatible

I’ve been wondering if I can import videos taken with my Sony HDR-AS100V to an iPad air or mini Retina, using the ”lighting to SD card camera reader adapter” by apple. Does an ipad support xavc s ?
